Ole Albert ter Steege, the peddler, takes his horse and cart from house to house in and all around the Dutch town of Enter selling his household products. A company is born. In the fifties his two sons, Willem and Jan, take over the business. They take their products to the weekly markets in the East of the Netherlands and specialize in pottery, glassware and chinaware. With its down-to-earth approach to business and through hard work the company gradually develops from retail to a wholesale business. Under the management of the present, third, generation the company has literally grown from a (weekly) market stall to a market player in the international wholesale business. The head office is in Rijssen, the Netherlands. Ter Steege also has a branch in Aalsmeer, the world’s largest flower trade centre.
