Our salt is an inland salt and not a rock salt or sea salt, it is formed on what is called a dwyka strata or simply put a rock formation underground and close to the surface, hence inland underground salt formation. These crystal form on the dwyka stratum and are dissolved by underground streams that pass over and around the rock formation dissolving the sodium chloride which runs into an underground brine lake where we pump out the brine onto the pans for drying by the sun. This is were our salt is very unique, hence the reason for the high purity and lack of impurities 99. 1 percent pure, whereas rock salt is mined with dynamite which leaves traces of nitrates and sea salt from the sea can be polluted as are most of the oceans are today.
