We have been selling perfume oils for over 9 years. This has been a very successful and exciting venture for us and we are loving every minute of it.
When we originally started this business we were skeptical at the money that could be made. We had just closed a lucrative jewelry shop temporarily to move to a new location. After finally signing the lease, not even 2 weeks before we were to open, the owners of the property told us that I could not sell jewelry there because my shop would be competing with a major new store that was coming soon. This was a very viable location and I did not want to let it go. So over the coming days we had to come up with an idea that we could feel comfortable with in order to move forward. We already had the oils because we carried them in our jewelry shop…so we decided to renegotiate the lease for a small fragrance shop instead. Little did we know that this would be one of the best decision.
We had no idea selling fragrance and perfume oils would be so profitable. Jewelry was the thing....how could you go wrong with jewelry? We used to always say, everybody wears some type of jewelry, but perfume oils? would we really make money selling oils? When we thought about oils, we conjured up images of street vendors hustling body oils on sidewalks and in beauty shops. A dollar here, a dollar there. They cant possibly be making any money. A little pocket change maybe…but real money? Well we dont know how much money those street vendors were making…but we know we have come to appreciate the beauty…and riches..of oils!
Our first month we made over $9,000. We were stunned and we only carried 50 different scents guess how much was profit? You wont believe it if we just told you.
