Spencer and I first learned about the Bob Marshall treeless sports saddle from our horse trainer and his wife. Dave gave me Debbie’s Bob Marshall treeless endurance saddle to try out, as I had been experiencing considerable discomfort in the saddle I was using. The difference between the treeless saddle and my conventional western saddle was startling! Haley actually responded to me—she was moving in rhythm with me, and at the gentlest suggestion. The communication was exciting, and I could just about anticipate her moves. This was a far cry from my previous experiences! After dismount, not only did I not feel the back and joint pain that I had come to associate as part of horseback riding, but I could actually lift the saddle off Haley!
